On a Cornish Holiday we stayed near the Lizard and I purchased this lovely handturned Serpentine bowl from a tiny workshop on the Lizard Point. You can see from the snakeskin-like markings why Serpentine got its name! It has long been used as a protective talisman and on a like cures like basis was once believed to protect against snake bites. In modern times it may help with overcoming fears and phobias. You can read more about Serpentine in my book Crystals.
