My choice of crystal this November is golden topaz. This warming, illuminating, energy is most welcome as the nights draw in. St Hildegard of Bingen, a 12th Century nun and seer, was reputed to have a piece of topaz that glowed so brightly she could read by it. Known as the Sybil of the Rhine some of her writings remain inspirational for us today. She believed in the medicinal and healing properties of crystals and wrote about healing stones in her seminal book on health, Physica.
